Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival 2019

What: Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this month with seven days of top tap talent. The festival features local and international tap dance artists in premiere performances, workshops and intensives, and community events. There will also be a 20th Anniversary Gala at The Orpheum Annex on August 31. Presented by Vancouver Tap Dance Society.

lululemon Summer Yoga Series at False Creek 2019

What: lululemon’s popular Summer Yoga Series is returning to Vancouver for another summer. Participants of any age or skill level will be able to take part in their classes at the recently-opened Concord Community Park in False Creek. Each session, which takes place every Monday at 6 pm through the end of August, will be held on the scenic seawall at the Northeast False Creek area. In addition to the free yoga classes, the community park space also features beach volleyball, half-court basketball, ping-pong, and pickup floor hockey games designated for youth in the community.

Vancouver Canadians vs Salem-Keizer Volcanoes

AIBC Summer Architectural Walking Tours

What: Through its summer Walking Tour Program, the Architectural Institute of BC offers stunning architectural perspectives of six Vancouver neighbourhoods. Sites include Chinatown, Gastown, Yaletown, Downtown, West End, and Strathcona, the first neighbourhood in Vancouver. For locals and tourist alike, the tours are a fun and engaging way to learn more about the architecture and history of Vancouver. A distance of 3 km is covered over a period of two hours – comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Vancouver Improv Fight Club: Tag Team Turmoil

What: Three epic improv duos will face off at Vancouver Improv Fight Club at Cafe Deux Soleils. Chilliwack Corn Maze

What: This year, the creators of the Chilliwack Corn Maze are paying special tribute to the Canucks 50th anniversary season, with a Canuck-themed maze. In addition to the maze, the farm also features other attractions such as a pumpkin patch, pedal carts, a “giant jumping pillow,” tractor rides, and an indoor hay-bale maze.

From now until September 2, the maze is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm, and Sundays and holidays from 11 am to 6 pm. From September 3 to September 30, the maze is open Thursdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm, and Sundays and holidays from 11 am to 6 pm. From October 1 to October 31, the attraction is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 am to 9 pm, and Sundays and holidays from 11 am to 6 pm.

Jak Knight and Zack Fox

What: Jak Knight is an LA-based comedian, writer, and actor whose stand-up special can currently be streamed on Netflix. Zack Fox has written for The Eric Andre Show, and co-wrote and acted in Flying Lotus’ horror-comedy “Kuso,” which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Reframed: Painting and Collage by Tiko Kerr

What: Reframed features new work by Tiko Kerr. Throughout his more than 30-year-long career, Kerr has explored the concept of perception through painting. His most recent works continue along this line of inquiry while drawing on images from art history and popular culture to explore the contemporary moment of widespread unrest and trauma.

WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020

What: Fresh off winning a Silver Medal at the Pan Am Games, the Canadian Women’s National Softball Team is looking to clinch one of two available berths for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Eleven teams from North, Central, and South America will participate in the tournament, with the top three National Teams in each group advancing to a Super Round. The top two National Teams in the tournament final standings will gain a spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
