What: Two-time Grammy nominee Noah Kahan is bringing The Great Divide Tour to BC Place on Friday, Aug. 28.
Kahan’s “monumental, career-defining stadium run” is only coming to two Canadian cities in 2026, and is in support of Kahan’s fourth studio album of the same name.

Drive-In Movie Nights in Richmond
What: Drive-In Movie Nights at Lansdowne Centre, presented by the shopping mall and Fresh Air Cinema, take place every Wednesday from July 22 until Sept. 2.
The movie screenings take place in the parking lot of Lansdowne Centre, and viewings are free this summer. Each week spotlights a different film theme, and viewers can vote on which one they would like to enjoy.

Port Day, presented by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

What: The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority will host its annual Port Day on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Canada Place, inviting the community to learn about the maritime industry and its role in moving Canadian trade.
The free, family-friendly event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and features live entertainment, interactive exhibits, maritime demonstrations, career exploration opportunities, and activities for all ages. The event will conclude with a performance by Vancouver alternative rock band Fake Shark, this year’s Port Day headliner.

What: Baseball is back at Nat Bailey Stadium! Join the Vancouver Canadians all season long and cheer on the future of the Blue Jays. Kimchi and K-Food Festival
What: Fans of kimchi rejoice, as Western Canada’s largest celebration of the much-loved food and other Korean cuisine is making its return to Coquitlam this week.
This year promises to be bigger than ever, with 114 different booths available to check out. There are also eight different experience programs, including kimchi making, a Squid Game-inspired experience, and a K-pop dance competition.

Deckchair Cinema at The Polygon Gallery

Angine de Poitrine

What: The PNE Fair is returning this summer with a jam-packed schedule of fun from Aug. 22 to Sept. 7, and music fans in Vancouver are in for a huge treat.

Richmond Sunflower Festival

Richmond Country Farm
What: The Richmond Country Farms Sunflower Festival is now open, and you can find over 90 flower varieties of sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolas, and seasonal blooms this year.
You have access to 20 acres of blooms in 2026, which is double the size of previous events. The farm also has walking paths that are suitable for strollers throughout the fields, with a number of good spots to take photos, like flower wagons, rustic props, and other Instagram-worthy areas.
Visitors can also enjoy tractor-pulled wagon rides, farm animals, rotating food trucks, and the CP Huntington Train.
When: Now until the end of the sunflower season

The Strokes
What: Julian Casablancas, Albert Hammond Jr., Nikolai Fraiture, Fabrizio Moretti, and Nick Valensi are hitting the road in support of their upcoming seventh studio album, Reality Awaits.
It follows their Grammy win for Best Rock Album for 2020’s The New Abnormal, a top 10 album in six countries and number one in Scotland.
The Strokes also recently performed at Coachella, and have headlining sets lined up at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and more.
