Starbucks is opening a massive Reserve Bar in downtown Vancouver

In spring 2017, Starbucks transformed its Mount Pleasant location on Main Street at 14th Avenue into Western Canada’s first Reserve Coffee Bar in Vancouver.

More than a year and a half later, we’re about to get another location.

The newest bougie Starbucks location, which offers patrons an elevated coffee experience, complete with a Coffee Master-designated barista and multiple methods of brewing your cup of Joe, will be located at 700 West Pender Street — the southwest corner of the intersection of West Pender Street and Granville Street.

The large retail space was the longtime home of Tip Top Tailors, until it closed in mid-spring earlier this year.

Slated to open in December 2018, the new Reserve Coffee Bar will feature a sleek look and an ‘experience bar’ showcasing elevated brew methods like the Siphon, Chemex, and pour over.

The adjacent regular Starbucks at CF Pacific Centre, located inside the atrium of the shopping mall’s West Pender Street entrance, is anticipated to close after the Reserve Coffee Bar opens.

Like the Mount Pleasant Reserve Bar, we can expect this spot to brew up unique beverages not found at other Starbucks locations.

We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date for this spot.

Earlier in the year, local developer Westbank partnered with Starbucks to redesign its coffee shop location in the lobby of Shaw Tower. The new store, which opened in June, is designed by internationally renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.
