Vancouver's Ryan Reynolds was just given the most random birthday gift

What do you get Canadian superstar Ryan Reynolds for his birthday?

If you’re his Welcome to Wrexham co-star Rob McElhenney and fellow Marvel hero Chris Pratt, you just might treat him to a one-of-a-kind gift that also gives back to the community that he is now inextricably tied to.

McElhenney, with the help of Pratt, unveiled the Unofficial Department of Parks & Wrex and the soon-to-be renamed Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park today on social media.

According to the Parks & Wrex website, the community space is located in the heart of Wrexham, UK, and will be a place for the community to grow, play, and come together.

The Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park will be located on the site of the old Wrexham Hippodrome and will be home to pop-up markets, statues of inspirational figures, and movie nights. Marvel fans in the area are sure to be treated to screenings of Deadpool.

The AFC Wrexham co-owners and their team are also working in close partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council to beautify the park in the coming months to accurately reflect the spirit of Wrexham and Wales.

Visitors to the park in the evenings will even see actual green lanterns lighting up the green space.

“@RobMcElhenney, I don’t know how you stuffed @PrattPrattPratt into your windowless panel van and forced him into our little birthday charade but I’m grateful to you for eternity,” replied Reynolds on Instagram. “You’ve completely and totally outdone yourself. April is right around the corner.”

It has been a busy time for Reynolds recently, having been awarded Order of BC this summer as well as the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter award at the 11th annual Revels & Revelations fundraiser.
