Folks who frequent Vancouver’s dining scene are most likely familiar with local legend chef Pino Posteraro.

Posteraro has garnered multiple accolades over his many years of cooking, including operating the award-winning Cioppino’s (which closed at the end of 2024) as well as cooking for many celebrity guests, including Pedro Pascal, Stanley Tucci, and Drake (multiple times).

Now, Posteraro is preparing for his next adventure in the local restaurant scene, joining LFG Growth Partners as Culinary Development Leader.

LFG Growth Partners is a hospitality group led by Richard Jaffray, whose portfolio includes Nook, The Keg, Oddfish, Radish, The Chase Restaurant, The Frederick, Hawksworth Restaurant Group (which comprises Hawksworth, Nightingale, and Bel Café), Shelter Restaurant, and Shed.

“Pino is an exceptional chef whose commitment to his craft, leadership, and high standards distinguish him in the industry,” said Jaffray. “We are very excited to have him join our team and are looking forward to benefiting from his insight and depth of experience.”

In his new role, Posteraro will support culinary product development across select LFG portfolio brands, including Nook, Radish, Oddfish, and Toronto locations, The Chase and The Frederick. His focus will include recipe creation, along with chef training and development.

“I look forward to bringing my decades of experience as a chef and restaurant owner and to collaborating with LFG’s talented chefs, operations teams, and business leaders,” said Posteraro. “LFG has built a culture that values culinary craftsmanship and people. I’m looking forward to being part of that.”

“Pino is generous with his knowledge and is deeply invested in growing our culinary leaders,” added Chef Cory Vitiello, Executive Director of Concept and Culinary Development, LFG Growth Partners. “Having already seen this firsthand, I know the impact he’ll have on our kitchens will go far beyond the recipes. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve creatively, together with our team.”

Prior to Cioppino’s 25-year run, Posteraro had worked in several well-known restaurants in Canada, Europe, and Singapore, where he became adept at marrying traditional Italian cooking with Asian influences. In 2018, he was also named a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy, the first chef in Canada to receive such an honour.
