Vancouver's new ice cream shop is offering a free scoop when it rains
A new ice cream shop has opened its doors in Vancouver, and it’s offering a special incentive for folks visiting during Vancouver’s typical rainy weather.
The new shop is called One More Scoop and has just opened its doors steps away from Kitsilano Beach. It’s also brought to us by the same team behind Kits Beach Coffee, which is located just a couple of doors down.
“We created One More Scoop because we love the simple ritual of going for ice cream. Walking to the beach with a cone. Stopping for a scoop after dinner. Bringing the kids for a sundae. Meeting a friend and deciding you have room for one more,” wrote One More Scoop on Instagram.

“We wanted to bring back a little of that classic ice cream shop nostalgia and create a place that feels fun, familiar and happy. Nothing too serious. Just good ice cream, soft serve, sundaes, and pints in a little shop by the beach.”
As for the reasoning behind its name, the team shared that it has to do with turning Vancouver’s typical rainy weather into “a little bit of magic.”
“On rainy days, guests who order a single or double scoop get one more scoop, on us,” wrote the shop.

Flavours will be available on a rotating basis, with current options including white chocolate raspberry, pistachio, Ferrero Rocher, and more. There are also vegan options available too, like mango, cookie and cream, and salted caramel coffee.
As for its sundaes, options include strawberry matcha shortcake, Oreo cookie, and blueberry cheesecake.
“Come say hi, grab a cone, try the soft serve (yes, you heard that right, we’ve got soft serve because we think you love it as much as we do), share an Instagram-worthy sundae, or take a pint home. Welcome to One More Scoop,” concluded the shop.
