Vancouver coffee shop named among top 5 cafes on prestigious list

Hot off the heels of it being named one of the best coffee shops in the world, Nemesis has collected another accolade after it was recognized as one of the top cafes in North, Central America, and the Caribbean.
World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops listed Nemesis at number 4 on the list, also making it the highest-ranked cafe in all of Canada.
“Nemesis is a hospitality-driven, specialty coffee company composed of highly dedicated baristas, chefs, and creatives. They utilize their pursuit of passion, and the spaces they explore them in, as a catalyst to build community and create culture,” wrote World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops.

Multiple criteria go into the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops rankings, including quality of coffee, barista expertise, innovation, sustainability practices, and more. Following a public vote, a panel of “esteemed specialty coffee experts and industry professionals” evaluates the coffee shops.
“To balance public opinion with expert insights, the final scores will be calculated using a weighted system. Public votes will account for 30% of the final score, while the expert panel’s evaluations will contribute the remaining 70%,” added the list.

The team behind Nemesis has been making big waves recently. In addition to the recent awards, the team launched the first brick-and-mortar location of its Dope Bakehouse brand, as well as the new concept Bam Bam, which specializes in fried chicken, donuts, and cocktails.
But it wasn’t just Nemesis who made the list, as World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops also included Cowdog on its list.

“Cowdog (Kits) is a minimalist specialty coffee destination located in the heart of the Kitsilano neighbourhood in Vancouver, Canada. Originally gaining a following as a focused pop-up, they have established a permanent home known for its meticulous approach to the craft and a stripped-back, intentional aesthetic,” wrote the list.
Cowdog has also been making some big moves in Vancouver recently with the launch of its new micro-bakery concept, Kohund.
