Folks familiar with the matcha scene in and around Vancouver are most likely familiar with the name Nana’s Green Tea. The store operated a location in Kerrisdale that has since moved to the Olympic Village area. Now, the team is gearing up to open a location in downtown Vancouver.

Nana’s Green Tea is opening at 869 Hornby St., in the space attached to Zubu Ramen.

For those who are unfamiliar with the brand, it got its start back in 2001 in the Jiyugaoka neighbourhood of Tokyo, Japan. Since then, it has grown to operate over 90 stores across the globe.

The spot is best known for its matcha offerings alongside a selection of tea-themed desserts. Think matcha soft serve, matcha tiramisu, matcha burnt basque cheesecake, and more!

“We have perfected the art of blending tea over many years to make our original Matcha green tea. A flair for blending, techniques that date back to the Edo period, and time and effort are the key to success,” shared the tea shop on its website.

An exact opening date for the new location has yet to be shared, but online it’s listed as “coming soon.”
