Vancouver jungle-themed restaurant has quietly closed — here's what's next for the space

Vancouver’s Jungle Room has quietly closed its doors.

The restaurant, known for its wide selection of cocktails and shareable bites, and an interior filled with lush greenery, never issued a formal closure announcement. However, as of late October, numerous reviews indicated that Jungle Room has closed, and reservations are no longer being accepted despite the restaurant being listed as open on Google (a similar situation to Mojo-Cantina Izakaya, which closed after a month of operation).

Additionally, a new restaurant is already slated to take over the space.

Miraas Restaurant and Bar shared on Instagram that it plans to open at the 961 Denman St. space.

“A refined corner in the heart of downtown,” wrote the restaurant. “Designed for comfort, conversation, and unhurried evenings, this space reflects the familiar spirit of Miraas—reimagined in a new setting.”

Miraas currently operates a location in West Vancouver and is best known for its Persian cuisine, which includes kebabs and rice dishes.

“Our menu honours Iran’s rich heritage, each dish tells a story of tradition and taste,” wrote the restaurant on its website. “More than just a restaurant, Miraas is a celebration of Persian culture, hospitality, and exceptional flavours.”

An opening date for Miraas’ downtown Vancouver outpost has yet to be announced.
