Man in hospital after altercation leads to stabbing in Richmond: RCMP

A man in his thirties is in the hospital after a stabbing in Richmond on Thursday evening.

According to a release from the Richmond RCMP, the incident took place at a residence in the 3500 blocks of Francis Road.

Police say that upon arrival, officers found a 34-year-old male suffering from stab wounds. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital; fortunately, he’s in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

At this point in time, it’s believed that the stabbing was the result of a fight between two people.

“Initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between two individuals,” says the Richmond RCMP. “The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that the parties involved are known to each other and there is no threat to the public.”
