Popular under-the-radar Japanese restaurant in Vancouver to close

Vancouver might have no shortage of incredible sushi spots, but it’s always sad to see one close.
Unfortunately, a well-loved neighbourhood spot, Jiu Jiang Japanese Restaurant, has shared that it will be closing its doors near the end of the month.
The 5707 Balsam St. business operated in Kerrisdale for eight years. The self-proclaimed “hidden gem” restaurant shared that its lease has expired and will not be renewed.

It will remain open until May 28, its final day of business. Be sure to pop in and say goodbye.
This is just the latest of many closures we’ve spotted over the last few weeks, which includes Vancouver’s short-lived 24-hour grocery delivery store, and the devastating loss of 13-year-old Pizza Farina, which closes its Main Street location on May 31.
