New festival dedicated to local coffee and craft beer coming to Vancouver

If there’s anything that’s certain in the foodie world, it’s that Vancouver loves its locally-roasted coffee and it loves its craft beer too.

So it only makes sense that someone would come up with a hybrid festival that celebrates both of these highly-consumed and beloved local beverages at the same time – enter Hopwired Festival.

The “largest collaboration event in Canada” and inaugural tasting celebration is taking place on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Croatian Cultural Centre, where attendees can find 40 vendors, 15 unique craft beer and coffee roaster collaborations, all-inclusive filtered/drip coffee, all-inclusive espresso, and experience tastings and live interviews from industry experts.

Guests can feast their eyes and their tastebuds on a rotating selection of espresso poured by ECM CANADA (Espresso Coffee Machines), Western Canada’s largest distributor of espresso machines and Italian food equipment, so basically this is everything you need to become a coffee connoisseur.

Expect other goodies such as food trucks and donuts too at Hopwired too, because you can’t drink all those beautiful beer-coffee creations on an empty stomach, right?

This festival, presented by West Craft, will offer consumers a unique one-day experience that’s unpretentious, whether you’re an avid beer drinker, a dedicated coffee brewer, or have never touched either topic in your life, you’ll be welcomed and edu-tained all day long.

Organizers have worked to team up with local producers and vendors to do one-time-only interactive presentations that you wont see anywhere else, this festival will also feature a local coffee market award show.

Yes you read that right, all-you-can-drink coffee, java lovers.

While the official vendor list wont be released until mid-January 2018, organizers say we can expect exciting international vendors with new beers and coffees hitting Canada for the first time, along with some of our favourite local roasters and breweries serving craft beers and third-wave coffee.
