Cult-favourite Eggslut is opening a location just hours from Vancouver

Vancouverites have a history of travelling far and wide to grab their favourite bites. And while some might be avoiding the border for one reason or another (especially with Canada updating its U.S. travel advisory), we still feel inclined to share the news that Eggslut is opening a new location just a three-hour drive away from the city.

Eggslut posted on Instagram announcing that it would be opening a Seattle location. Aside from that, there are not many details. An exact opening date and location have not yet been announced.

So why are people so excited? Well, many claim that Eggslut serves one of the best breakfast sandwiches ever.

The chef-driven gourmet food concept was founded in 2011 and is inspired by a “true love for eggs,” according to its website.

“The menu is a balance of comfort and innovation, celebrating food that appeals to both novice and extreme foodie through classic comfort fare with a twist, all encompassing our key ingredient, eggs. Our goal is to share our food with everyone. No longer just a breakfast staple, we make eggs appetizing all day, everyday,” said Eggslut.

Currently, the breakfast sandwich restaurant operates locations throughout the U.S., U.K., and one outpost in Tokyo, Japan. It hasn’t opened any Canadian locations, but this Seattle spot will be the closest location to Vancouver yet.

However, while Vancouverites have had no problem crossing the border in the past to hit up their favourite restaurants (much like when Shake Shack opened its first Seattle location back in 2018, before it expanded into Canada), with the current trade war going on we’ll have to wait and see how many people end up making the trek for these breakfast sandwiches.
