Downtown Vancouver anti-mask rally draws over 200 people (PHOTOS/VIDEO)
A weekend anti-mask rally held downtown drew a crowd to the Vancouver Art Gallery on February 20.
Vancouver Police estimated that between 200 and 250 people showed up for the “BC Grand Freedom Rally” on Saturday.
Although a flyer for the event stated that Mark Donnelly, the former anthem singer for the Vancouver Canucks, would be in attendance, he did not show up.
A YouTube recording of Donnelly singing the national anthem was played instead.
The gathering was touted on social media as having a “packed lineup of courageous speakers and truth warriors” and “COVID-19 and vaccine truths revealed by real medical experts.”

The anti-lockdown protest is one of many that has been held in downtown Vancouver since the pandemic began.
Under current provincial health orders, events are suspended across BC in order to reduce COVID-19 transmission and keep schools and workplaces open.
Prior to today’s event, an open letter was sent to VPD demanding more accountability and enforcement over these gatherings.
