Daily Hive offering free advertising in new Restaurant Guide

We are now just over a year into the pandemic. And just when we thought we were close to the end, on Monday the BC government announced further restrictions — restrictions that once again severely impact the restaurant industry.

The food and beverage industry has already greatly suffered during the pandemic. So many of our favourite restaurants, bars, and cafes have had a difficult time trying to make it, and unfortunately some did not survive. An estimated 10,000 restaurants have shut down in the past year in Canada.

With the latest round of BC restrictions, including a three-week suspension on indoor dining, this will place even greater financial pressure on those that remain, pressure on an industry with already razor-thin profit margins.

So how can we help?

At Daily Hive, our Dished Vancouver content garners 1.5 million page views from over 600,000 monthly readers, the largest food focused content hub in Western Canada.

In addition, we have over 170,000 followers on our Dished Vancouver Instagram account that caters to showcasing the very best of our restaurant friends in Metro Vancouver. Our team has done a great job covering the local food and drink scene, but I believe we have failed in providing the restaurant owners with an opportunity to tap into our robust readership base.

We realized many small to medium-sized restaurants do not have large marketing budgets but we still wanted to create a product that provides them with a way that allows them to get exposure to our audience. Enter the Dished Vancouver Restaurant Guide

Our original plan was to roll out the Dished Vancouver Guide at an annual price point that renewed 12 months after you sign up. With the onset of the new restrictions, we’ve decided instead to offer it for free for up to three months for all restaurants that sign up now until April 19, 2021. We will extend the waived fees if the provincial restrictions are extended.

For our restaurant colleagues, this is a great way to inform our audience that you are still open for business. Restaurant profiles will be showcased on hundreds of Dished articles and can will to your restaurant’s available takeout options.

Daily Hive’s mission has always been to connect people with their cities, including small businesses.

Our hope is that the guide helps our readers to find restaurants in their neighbourhood that are offering takeout and/or patio dining as an option during the current restrictions. Post- COVID, the guide will provide tremendous reach at a low monthly price point.

To our readers, what better way to explore new spots, or get reacquainted with a spot you haven’t been to in a long time?

What we’re offering

  • Up to three months free on our new Dished Vancouver Restaurant Guide.
    • 3 months free for single independent restaurants
    • 2 months free for small to medium-sized restaurant groups
    • 1 month free for large chains and restaurant groups

Note: If after two months, you wish to no longer be a part of the guide for whatever reason, you can contact us and you will not be charged. This offer ends May 31, 2021.

  • Those that sign up are considered our local restaurant partners and with that comes many perks that only Daily Hive offers — including IG posts for each restaurant signup. If you own a group of restaurants, each restaurant will get a static IG post or IG story.

The last time we kicked off an initiative to help small businesses, we ended up providing over $1 million in free advertising. This time around we hope the restrictions aren’t that long but we want to be there to help in any way we can.

To get started, fill out the form below, or if you have additional questions send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll get in touch.
