Small business to small business: Daily Hive is here for you

Mar 19 2020, 9:04 pm

Unprecedented is a word that is being thrown around a lot lately. But, words cannot appropriately describe the impact of these last few weeks. Some of us may have friends or family who are ill. Some may be facing bills they cannot pay. Others may be closing the doors of a business that is their heart and soul – and the heart and soul of their community.

Family, friends, communities, the economy – nearly everything in our lives has been impacted by COVID-19. And, the ripple effect of this on small businesses, and the many people whose livelihoods depend on them, has been catastrophic.

I want to let all the small business owners of Canada know that we, at Daily Hive, are doing all in our power to help. Just yesterday, we instituted a gift card and donation reimbursement programme for our staff, whereby we would cover the cost of them making a contribution to their favourite charity or purchasing online from their go-to local business.

Today, from our small business to small businesses across Canada, we are announcing that we will be offering free social advertising to local businesses. Use the space to inform our audience that you are still open. Use it to send a message to your community or staff. Or simply use it to spread hope.

Daily Hive’s mission has always been to connect people with their cities. And, now perhaps more than ever, our core purpose is needed. And, although we are apart practicing social-distancing, our hope is that this program brings our communities and cities back together.

Who we’re helping with advertising support:

  • Local, small businesses that are still currently open, have an online component (i.e., e-commerce, take-out, gift card, pick-up services), or are now unfortunately closed but have a message of hope to send to their staff, customers, or community
  • Businesses that operate in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, Seattle, or Portland

What we’re offering:

Interested? Questions? Suggestions? Send an email to [email protected]. We look forward to talking with you.

Stay safe, healthy, and keep your spirits up. Remember to check in on your friends, family, and neighbours. And, support local whenever possible. While things may currently be uncertain, we will get through this together – and, together, we will rebuild.
