Popular Canadian cupcake shop to open its first cafe concept in B.C. soon

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for fans of everything sweet in B.C. Chocola Favoris opened its first Vancouver location in May, while the Swiss chocolatier Läderach confirmed its first-ever Western Canada location was coming to Metro Vancouver. Additionally, Nemesis is launching its first standalone location of the Dope Bakehouse brand. Now, we have another addition to all of these sweet purveyors: Crave Cupcakes is opening its first location in B.C., in Kelowna.

Crave Cupcakes was founded in 2004 by sisters Carolyne McIntyre Jackson and Jodi Willoughby and has since grown to operate numerous locations throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

This new location will serve up its signature treats, including its decadent chocolate cake and famous buttercream frosting, as well as introduce Crave’s first coffee and tea concept.

“This opening is more than just a new location—it’s the next evolution of Crave Cupcakes,” said Carolyne McIntyre Jackson and Jodi Willoughby. “For over 20 years, we’ve built our business on simple ingredients, from-scratch baking, and heartfelt traditions passed down from the women in our family. Opening in Kelowna brings all of that full circle. It’s a place that holds deep personal meaning for us, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our classic recipes—and something brand new—with this community. Launching our first-ever coffee and tea bar here allows us to create a welcoming space where people can slow down, connect, and make memories over something sweet.”

Crave Cupcakes Kelowna is opening its doors on Wednesday, June 25. To celebrate the grand opening of the store, the first 50 customers will receive a free mini cupcake.

Additionally, those who spend over $50 will receive a free small drink, and those who spend over $100 will receive a complimentary tote bag.
