We mapped the perfect Main Street patio cafe crawl for your weekend in Vancouver

Like most people, a sunny day spent cafe hopping is a dream come true for us. And Vancouver, let alone Main Street, is home to some terrific cafes to do so. But with so many options, where do you even begin?
That’s why we designed the ultimate Main Street cafe crawl featuring spots that all have patios so you can soak up as much Vitamin D as possible.
So, if you’re stuck for weekend plans and feel like doing a little bit of walking, why not try out this Main Street cafe crawl featuring four great spots for baked goods, coffee, and sitting in the sun.
First, we recommend stopping at Le Marché St. George, a cozy café and market serving up some amazing crepes, located at 4393 St. George St. (which is technically not on Main Street, we know). During our visit, we opted for the salted butter and sugar (trying to keep it light since we had a lot of good eating ahead of us) and found it the perfect bite to start our cafe crawl.
However, with a selection of both savoury and sweet crepes, alongside seasonal quiches, croque monsieur, and a variety of croissants, we wouldn’t blame you if you decided to end your cafe crawl here and sample a little bit of everything.

From there, we walked 15 minutes over to Liberty Bakery and Café at 3699 Main St. for some more delicious baked goods. During our visit, we asked the staff for their recommendations, and they suggested we try one of Liberty’s savoury biscuits.
We opted for the mushroom and gruyere variety, which had a perfectly crispy exterior and a soft interior. We’ll definitely be coming back for this one.

From Liberty, we headed north for about 10 minutes until we got to 49th Parallel Café at 2902 Main St., which is one of its locations that makes Lucky’s Doughnuts on site.
You really can’t go wrong with any of the doughnuts here, but we ordered the Strawberry Chocolate Bismarck alongside an iced coffee.

If you haven’t already had enough coffee and baked goods, then we recommend making the quick seven-minute walk over to The Federal Store at 2601 Quebec St.
We ordered the Breakfast Biscuit, which is avocado, feta, and two soft-boiled eggs served on focaccia.
Similar to Le Marché St. George, The Federal Store also offers a variety of local products available for purchase. Even if you’re too full to order anything to eat here, be sure to browse the shelves and bring home some locally made products to enjoy later.
