Vancouver's 911-themed restaurant has quietly closed — here's what's replacing it

It was early September when we noticed that 911 Pizza, the police-themed pizza shop that opened in November 2024, appeared to be closed. The doors were locked, and the windows were papered up. However, there was no official closure announcement for the restaurant, so whether this was a permanent closure or just temporary was still up in the air.
Fast forward to today, and we now know the fate of the Robson Street storefront — and a new cheesesteak spot is set to open soon.
Built with the goal of offering fast, high-quality food, priced under $10, 911 Pizza also honoured our local emergency workers.
Every price at 911 Pizza incorporated the numbers one and nine, and every item on its regular menu was priced at $9.11, with its special dishes being multiples of nine and 11. The 911 motif didn’t just stop at the prices, but also informed the store’s hours (operating from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.). It even offered discounts at 9:11 a.m. and 9:11 p.m. and had a guaranteed delivery window of nine to 11 minutes.
Today, signs for Crave Cheeseteaks have appeared at the storefront.

“Crave Cheesesteaks is Vancouver’s home for authentic Philly-style cheesesteak sandwiches, made with the same passion that made the original famous,” wrote the restaurant on Google. “If you’ve never had a true Philly cheesesteak, this is where to start.”
The restaurant promises to serve a real Philly cheesesteak, which has been refined for West Coast food lovers by prioritizing fresh, local, and “chef-crafted” ingredients.
