A popular Yaletown cafe has closed its doors, and the community is sharing how much they miss the space.
Coo Coo Coffee broke the news on Nov. 3 that it had officially closed its doors, thanking its customers for their loyal support. Many took to the closure announcement to share some kind words and goodbyes to the cafe.

“Oh my goodness, Yaletown will never be the same. Thank you for creating a space I felt so comfortable coming to for soooooo many years. Sending you all the love and good wishes for whatever is next on your adventure called life!” said one user.
“We are sad we didn’t get to say goodbye – wishing you luck and happiness for the next chapter! When we moved to the neighbourhood, Coo Coo immediately became our favourite. Thanks for making delicious coffee and always making it feel like a special and personal experience,” said another.
“Coo Coo made our stay in Vancouver feel like family, we are going to miss those amazing mornings talking for hours with the best coffee, veggie rolls and good friends. Wishing you the best in what’s yet to come,” added a third.
Coo Coo was best known for its coffee offerings, which included a drink called “Bullet Coffee,” which was described as a “high octane blend of organic espresso, organic virgin coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and pure MCT oil.” It also offered a selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
However, less than a month after announcing its closure, signs for another cafe have already opened in the space.

Signs for Nine Bar Coffee have popped up at the former home of Coo Coo.
According to its website, Nine Bar is currently a mobile battery-powered coffee cart that is servicing the Metro Vancouver community.
“Nine Bar was founded through the coalescence of personal interest and hobby as well as professional experience through one of Vancouver’s top local coffee shops,” wrote the cafe. “We are coffee lovers first and foremost and are passionate about getting the most out of that brown bean.”
Currently, Nine Bar only operates the mobile coffee cart, meaning this will be the first brick-and-mortar location for the team.
Nine Bar is expected to open in Yaletown sometime in December 2025.
