They’re 44 years old and played their last games with the Vancouver Canucks seven years ago, but Daniel and Henrik Sedin aren’t done competing.

The Canucks legends were among the 39,378 people that finished Sunday’s annual Vancouver Sun Run and they probably ran it faster than anyone you know.

They crushed it.

Daniel Sedin posted a blistering time of 36:06, while brother Henrik ran the 10-km race in just 37:10.

Daniel’s time was just 7:57 off the winning time of 28:09 from Sam Atkin of Great Britain. For reference, Atkin is a long-distance runner who competed in the 10,000-m race at the Tokyo Olympics four years ago.

Daniel had the 17th-fastest time out of 2,321 male runners between 40 and 44 years old. Henrik was 26th in the same category.

While they’ve yet to open up their own gyms like Trevor Linden or Steve Nash, the Sedins’ fitness level has become legendary.

Henrik and Daniel beat all the much-younger Canucks prospects up the Grouse Grind just last year. One year earlier, Daniel competed in the Multi Grouse Grind Challenge, completing it a whopping 11 times in one day.

The Sun Run is actually one of the easier races the Sedins have been spotted at. Within weeks of retiring in 2018, the Sedins ran a 25-km trail race in North Vancouver. They’ve also participated in the 42.2-km Vancouver Marathon, among other races.
