Fan-favourite sandwich truck at Vancouver brewery to close its doors

When visiting Container Brewing, it’s hard not to crave a sandwich from Burdy. The sandwich bus has become a must-visit when stopping by the brewery, which is why it’s so hard to hear that Burdy will be ceasing operations by the end of the week.
“We know this is sudden — and we’re sorry for the short notice — but we only just found out ourselves!” shared Burdy. “The food truck needed to be sold, and summertime is the best window to do that, unfortunately.” It also added that the new owners will be taking the bus to Penticton.
Burdy, which operated out of a solar-powered yellow bus, is best known for its selection of drool-worthy sandwiches, including its much-loved Chicken Parm Sandwich.

While we’re sad to see Burdy go, it’s not all doom and gloom for the team.
“This is not the end for Burdy, in fact, it’s the beginning of something VERY exciting!” said the food truck.
While the team couldn’t go into specifics, Burdy encouraged fans to stay tuned through its Instagram for some Burdy pop-ups around the city, as well as plans for next year. Dished reached out to Burdy for more information on its future plans.
“We’d just like to thank all of the people who have been supporting us throughout the years. You have all been so kind to us, and we can’t believe all the major support we have received throughout this whole journey! You have given us the confidence to take on this next step because we have met so many die-hard fans of Burdy, and it still is so hard to believe,” added Burdy, also giving a special shoutout to Container Brewing for letting the food truck use its patio for so long.
“Sorry about all the weeds that have grown under the bus in the last four years, but now you can look at them when we leave and think of us! But seriously… thank you for everything and giving us an opportunity of a lifetime that has led us to our next chapter,” said the food truck in its thanks to Container Brewing.
