Inside AJ's new Metro Vancouver location opening this weekend
Folks following Dished Vancouver on Instagram and TikTok may be familiar with our series of videos where we ask chefs and influential people in the food world for their top picks in the city. And among pizza fans, one spot seems to dominate the recommendations: AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint.
So when we heard that AJ’s was preparing to open its second-ever outpost in Metro Vancouver, we knew we needed to check it out. Perhaps the most exciting part of this new location it’s opening inside Metro Vancouver’s only water park — Big Splash Water Park — in Tsawwassen.
But just because it’s operating inside a water park doesn’t mean you need to pay admission to visit, nor do you need to go down any water slides either (though we think any opportunity to go down a water slide should be taken whenever possible).
The new outpost will be fully licensed and accessible outside of water park hours, operating Wednesday to Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., and weekends from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. And don’t worry, all of your AJ’s favourites, from New York Pies to Detroit-style pizzas, will be available here too.

The new location is opening this Sunday (just in time for the Super Bowl) for takeout and delivery, but folks wanting to sit back and relax (maybe with a couple of brews) can look forward to March when the team shared they’ll be opening the heated patio, complete with multiple TVs.
AJ’s currently operates a location on East Broadway and is best known for its selection of regular round options, along with specialty pizzas such as the Brooklyn Sicilian Square, the Bensonhurst Upside Down Sicilian Square, and a picture-perfect Detroit Red Top variety.

“Respect is the single most important ingredient in our business. We respect our customers. All of them. No matter what. We respect this great community we get to serve and call home. And we respect our food. That means everything is homemade, including dough that takes three days to prepare. Our chefs are artists, and we don’t take shortcuts. We are a proud, loyal family dedicated to making authentic Brooklyn-style pizza. That’s what it’s all about. It’s just that simple.”
