Whether it’s thin or thick crust, served with cheese on top or under the sauce, there’s no denying that pizza is one of the most deliciously versatile foods out there. Lucky for us, Vancouver is home to many great pizza spots.

However, with so many places to choose from, it can be hard to narrow down where to visit. That’s why we went on Instagram to ask our followers for their favourite pizza recommendations, and we got some great answers.

From vegan pies to Detroit-style pizzas, here are some of the best spots for pizza in Vancouver, according to our readers.

Frank’s Pizza and Bar

Easily the most recommended spot on our Instagram callout, Frank’s Pizza is serving some killer pies. Highlights include the Bee Sting (san marzano tomatoes, parmesan, pepperoni, pickled green chilies, red onion, oregano, stracciatella cheese, honey drizzle, Sicillian olive oil, and fresh basil) and the Brussell Simmons (cacio e pepe cream, parmesan, mozzarella, double smoked bacon, brussels sprouts, roasted onion, capers, sriracha aioli, toasted breadcrumbs, Sicilian olive oil).

Address: Resurrection Spirits — 1672 Franklin St., Vancouver

AJ’s Brooklyn Pizza Joint

A legit Brooklyn pizza joint in Vancouver, AJ’s has it all. The East Broadway shop offers a selection of regular round options, along with specialty pizzas such as the Brooklyn Sicilian Square, the Bensonhurst Upside Down Sicilian Square, and a picture-perfect Detroit Red Top variety.

Address: 325 E Broadway, Vancouver

The Parlour

You can never go wrong with a pie from The Parlour. This Yaletown spot consistently produces beautiful, bubbly-crusted pies cooked to perfection, including some breakfast varieties that will kill any hangover. There’s a reason it’s one of the Vancouver Canuck’s favourite pizzas, after all.

Address: 1011 Hamilton St., Vancouver

Olympia Pizza

When a pizza joint has been around since 1967, you know it’s got to be good. Olympia Pizza was the product of years of work after six brothers migrated from the Greek island Evia to Vancouver in the early 60s. Since then, Olympia has been a family-run restaurant serving pizza, pasta, and Greek cuisine to the Vancouver community.

Address: 3205 West Broadway, Vancouver

Via Tevere Pizza

Talk about a neighbourhood gem, Via Tevere offers over a dozen different pies made in its wood-fired oven. These pizzas are fired up to 500 degrees before hitting your plate, so you know they are fire.

Address: 1190 Victoria Dr., Vancouver

Pacifico Pizza

If you’re looking for some great Italian cuisine, look no further than Pacifico. With a lineup of tasty pies, pastas, and appies, Pacifico is pretty much a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Address: 970 Smithe St., Vancouver

Just Pizza

Those looking to switch it up from the standard pepperoni pizza should head on over to Just Pizza, a restaurant offering a more unique approach to the fan-favourite pizza. On the menu you’ll find flavours like Filipino Breakfast (garlic white sauce, mozzarella, longganisa, sunny side up egg, jalapenos, pickled red onions, fried garlic, scallions) and Fig Prosciutto (garlic white sauce, mozzarella, bocconcini, prosciutto, fig jam, fresh arugula, balsamic glaze, lemon juice). They also offer “Nasty Crust,” which adds spicy honey and cheddar cheese powder to your crust.

Address: 1629 Kingsway, Vancouver

Don’t Tell Nonna

One of the latest pizza spots to join the scene, this Langley restaurant serves up New York and Detroit-style pizzas. We’ve heard particularly good things about its New York Crab Pizza, which comes with an old bay and cream cheese spread, mozzarella, breadcrumbs, parmesan, lemon, and dill.

Address: 20504 Fraser Hwy., Langley

Nonna’s Cucina

What started as a food truck in Port Moody has now expanded to two brick-and-mortar restaurants in Vancouver. And you’ll find more than just tasty pizza here. Nonna’s serves fire-roasted paninis and pasta as well.

Address: 1728 Commercial Dr., Vancouver

Virtuous Pie

When we’re talking about vegan pizza, few do it better than Virtuous Pie. We’d recommend trying the Stranger Wings pie, which comes with cauliflower Bianca sauce, spicy buffalo cauliflower, fried shallots, blue cheese drizzle, and scallions.

Address: 583 Main St., Vancouver

Wild Flour Co.

Home to one of the best sourdough pizzas in Metro Vancouver, Wild Flour Co. has quickly become a fan-favourite. In addition to its lineup of creative sourdough pizzas (including plant-based options), it also serves salads and housemade dips.
