Earlier this month, the TTC announced a few of its scheduled subway closures had been cancelled.
The TTC has originally scheduled 43 subway closures in 2018 due to upgrades, inspections, and repairs.
But following several closure cancellations this month, it looks like June will follow suit.
The cancellations are related to current labour negotiations between the TTC and ATU Local 113.
In an email, TTC’s Brad Ross said that each closure scheduled is being weighed on a week by week basis.
And on Wednesday, he said that while this weekend’s scheduled closure has been cancelled, there will be a closure on June 9 and 10 from Sheppard West to Lawrence West for signal work.
The closure will take place from 11 pm on June 9 until 11 am on June 10.
This weekend’s Line 1 subway closure from Lawrence to St Clair Stations is cancelled. However, there will be a subway closure June 9-10 from 11 pm Saturday to 11 am Sunday from Sheppard West to Lawrence West for signal work. Shuttle buses will operate. #TTC

According to the TTC, 24 of the weekend closures scheduled for 2018 were initiated by Metrolinx to accommodate Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction at Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue.
On the TTC’s website, all of June’s other closures are listed as cancelled except for June 16 and 17, the weekend following Ross’ announced dates.
The closure is due to Metrolinx’s Eglinton Crosstown LRT work at Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue. Shuttle buses will operate between these stations for the duration of the closure.
