What: The sixth annual CNTV Chinese New Year Celebration Gala returns to Toronto this week, and it’s known for being the largest extravaganza for the Chinese Community. Over eight hundred elite artists from Mainland China and Canada perform in the preeminent social networking event for the Chinese community.

Toronto Maple Leafs Outdoor Practice

What: If you’ve ever wanted to experience a Toronto Maple Leafs practice, now’s your chance. This Thursday, you can cheer on the Maple Leafs as they take to the ice at one of Toronto’s most iconic outdoor rinks, Nathan Phillips Square, for practice. There will also be free hot beverages, giveaways, prizes, activations and a game of shinny with a mix of Leafs alumni and City of Toronto councillors.

Final First Thursdays: We Are Each Others Muse

What: TiKa is performing with special guests James Bailey and TIYAL and there will also be an art sale, an advice column-style Q&A with artist Dayna Danger, a meme-making workshop by Fallon Simard, a performance by Kiera Boult and the work of The Original Smiths, who make retro, vintage and up-cycled clothing.

The Drake Hotel’s 15th Birthday

What: The Drake Hotel is throwing an epic 15th birthday party and Toronto is invited. The four-day extravaganza kicks off the on the 7th with the grand reopening of Drake Underground featuring multiple musical performances, brand new art and a dance party ’til late.

Icefest 2019

What: Toronto’s historic Yorkville neighbourhood will be transformed into a showcase of delicate, stunning ice sculptures using over 70,000 lbs of crystal clear ice over February 9 and 10. This year’s theme is Hollywood North, turning Yorkville into a magical display of magnificent sculptures inspired by the success of the film industry in Toronto and Yorkville.
