Since the beginning of fall, we’ve been teasing you with photos of the highly anticipated Bentway Skate Trail, Toronto’s newest outdoor skating destination.
And while we gave you a sneak peek on Friday of what it was like:
We’re happy to announce that the skating trail is now officially open to the public.
Located below the Gardiner Expressway, the Bentway Skate Trail is a 220-metre long figure eight loop, giving Torontonians the opportunity to explore the once vacant and forgotten space from a whole new perspective.
This past Saturday, skaters were able to lace up and hit the ice for the first time, and on Sunday, Mayor John Tory took over the ice to host his annual Winter Skate Party.
And if one thing’s for certain, even the freezing temperatures couldn’t keep Torontonians from checking out this new spot.
Check out these incredible photos from the opening weekend of the Bentway Skate Trail.
The Bentway Skate Trail is located below the Gardiner Expressway at 250 Fort York Blvd. Its hours of operation are:
Monday to Thursday: 11 am t0 9 pm
Friday and Saturday: 11 am to 11 pm
