Special Weather Statement issued for Toronto due to snowfall

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto due to snowfall this evening and overnight that is expected to affect tomorrow morning’s commute.

An average of 10 cm of snow is forecast to fall across Southern Ontario tonight, with Toronto expected to receive approximately 5 cm.

The temperature in Toronto is currently -7.1°C and feels like -15°C with the windchill.

Snow for the Back to School commute in southern Ontario Monday.

Snow is expected to overspread all of southern Ontario from west to east this evening and tonight and then taper off from west to east Monday.

Snowfall totals will average about 10 cm across southern Ontario with higher amounts to the northeast of the Great Lakes. However, the Toronto area is forecast to see lower snowfall amounts of about 5 cm.

It appears that snow will be falling over all areas during the Monday morning commute. Untreated roads are expected to be slippery.
