High school teacher arrested following multiple sexual assault allegations

A 36-year-old high school teacher employed by the York Catholic District School Board has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault following a York Regional Police investigation.

According to police, on December 22, 2018, an investigation began after a victim contacted police to report he had been sexually assaulted at a party the night before by a man he had known for several years.

Through their investigation, officers located a second victim who had reported being sexually assaulted by the same man at a party in December 2017.

Following the investigation, police arrested Anthony Ganuelas of Markham. He is now facing two counts of sexual assault and is due in court on January 23.

According to the suspect’s LinkedIn profile, he worked as a computer science teacher in Richmond Hill.

Police want to speak to anyone who has any information that may assist in the investigation and ensure that there are no further victims.
