Toronto police have arrested a 16-year-old boy after he reportedly brought a gun to school on Tuesday.

According to police, they received information that a boy had a gun in his backpack near Silberview Drive and Bowerbank Drive, where Avondale Secondary Alternative School is located.

Upon arrival, police located the boy and the gun, and he was arrested.

No injuries have been reported.

Police say the investigation is on-going, and that the handgun seized is a replica handgun.
