Toronto McDonald's closes after employee tests positive for coronavirus

Another Toronto McDonald’s location has closed temporarily following an employee’s COVID-19 diagnosis.

A staff member at the restaurant’s 3305 Sheppard Avenue East location, in Scarborough, reportedly tested positive for the virus on May 1.

The affected individual last worked on April 24, from 2 pm to 10:35 pm.

Upon learning of the confirmed case, McDonald’s immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization, conducted by third-party experts.

The eatery will reopen once the direction has been given by local health authorities, and the company says it will work to make that reopening as safe as possible. Further, all crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.

Anyone who may have visited the restaurant on April 24, should follow the directions outlined by health authorities here.

In late April, the McDonald’s located at King and Bathurst closed following an employee’s coronavirus diagnosis.

Prior to that, the location at 2 Ingram Drive in North York shuttered for the same reason.
