Police initially said that the man’s SUV was also stolen, and that he was taken to hospital.

In an update, officers said that there was no stabbing in the incident.

They say the man had been involved in an accident, when his vehicle struck a pole. He then fled the scene and told someone that had stopped to help him a “false story.”

He was later arrested by police.

(Not a) cool story, bro.
