Another GTA McDonald's closes after employees test positive for coronavirus

Another GTA McDonald’s location has closed temporarily following multiple employees’ COVID-19 diagnoses.

Two staff members at the restaurant’s 601 Lakeshore East location in Mississauga, reportedly tested positive for the virus on May 13.

One affected individual last worked on May 8 from 5:45 am to 2:05 pm, while the other worked on May 9 from 10:45 am to 7:15 pm.

Upon learning of the confirmed case, McDonald’s immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitization, conducted by third-party experts.

The eatery will reopen once the direction has been given by local health authorities, and the company says it will work to make that reopening as safe as possible. Further, all crew members who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine until further information is available.

Anyone who may have visited the restaurant on May 8 or 9 should follow the directions outlined by health authorities here.

Earlier this month, the restaurant’s 3305 Sheppard Avenue East location closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for the virus.

Prior to that, the McDonald’s located at King and Bathurst closed following a staff member’s coronavirus diagnosis, and the location at 2 Ingram Drive in North York shuttered for the same reason.
