Toronto to be hit with freezing rain following winter storm

Toronto can’t catch a break.

The good news is, Snowmageddon 2.0 has passed.

But the bad news is that directly on the heels of this week’s winter storm, Toronto is expected to be hit by freezing rain on Thursday night.

According to The Weather Network, a brief period of light snow or freezing drizzle is possible late Thursday afternoon across southern Ontario, with little or no accumulation expected.

Rain is expected to become more widespread across the southern half of the region overnight, with temperatures staying near freezing when the rain begins.

“So freezing rain or freezing drizzle is possible,” says Dr. Doug Gillham, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.

So on this day of love, it’s looking like it’ll be in your best interest to stay hunkered down.

Because be it with your boo or your favourite movie, it’s going to be raining both love… and literal freezing rain.

But on the bright side, if you do happen to go outside at least you can look forward to somewhat mild temperatures. This afternoon, temperatures are going to finally hover in the positives, with a high of 2ÂșC expected.
