
California senator Kamala Harris is projected to become the first Black and South Asian woman vice-president.
Harris announced her own run for the White House in January, before ending it in the spring of 2020.
In August, Joe Biden announced Harris as his running mate.

Harris lived in Quebec during the 1970s and 80s while attending Westmount High School. During that time, her mother, Shyamala, was a teacher at McGill University.
