Montreal's 10-day sketch comedy festival returns to the city this May

Things are about to get sketchy in Montreal — in a good way.

The 14th edition of Montreal Sketchfest returns to the city in May for 10 days of live sketch comedy and laughs.

The Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival is an annual celebration of sketch comedy assembled by Le Nouveau International, a not-for-profit arts company that resides at Theatre Ste. Catherine.

Since its inception in 2006, the festival has welcomed over 300 troupes from all over the world.

The 2019 edition of the comedy festival will take place from May 2 to 11, 2019, at venues around Montreal including the timeless Theatre Sainte-Catherine, Café Bar, and Montreal Improv.

From veteran sketch troupes to beginners, this year’s festival will host over 50 troupes from all over North America, in both English and French.

This year’s acts include Pegasus from New York City, Good Game from London, Lady Mary and the Marquis Van Shyzer from Toronto, Marv n’ Berry from Edmonton, and Philadelphia’s Crying Alone in the Shower.

Tickets range from $15 per show, $20 for a day pass, and $65 for the all-festival pass.
