Montreal police warn to avoid Verdun area today amidst an 'ongoing intervention'
Montreal police have sent out a warning on their social media channels, urging citizens to stay away from the Verdun borough of the island.
In a tweet, the SPVM said there was an “ongoing police intervention,” specifically around the Boulevard Lasalle and rue de l’Église area.

According to the police, “a man in distress barricaded himself in his apartment. He’s been subdued by the officers. Please avoid the area.”
