As the workweek hits the halfway point, here are a few things worth checking out across Montreal today, March 11.

Imagine Van Gogh

What: Montreal has been coated with an exhibition of the works of Vincent Van Gogh, the Dutch post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous figures in the history of the art world.

The exhibition, recently extended through April, takes guests through the world of colours and emotions of Van Gogh’s works through gigantic murals and immersive soundtrack.

Bishop & Gags Vol.47 – Kris Dulger 

What: Pub Bishop & Bagg is returning tonight with the 47th edition of their appropritely named comedy show, Bishop & Gags.

Tonight’s host Brad Macdonald takes the stage ahead of a mix of talented Montreal comics along with the headliner, Kris Duglar.

The show is of the ‘pay what you can’ variety and it doesn’t hurt that the pub also boasts one of the most extensive gin collections in all of Quebec along with a tasty food menu and great draft beers.

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

What: McKibbin’s Irish Pub hosts their “Hooley Night” tonight on their third-floor dance club.

Ladies pay $10 at the door, gentlemen pay $25 and then it’s an open bar, all you can drink.

The deal includes  Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye, and whiskey. There’s a dance floor and a DJ and the night usually tends to get pretty busy.

If you’re looking for a midweek drinking and dancing getaway, it’s tough to beat McKibbin’s on Wednesdays.

Oasis Surf

What: Battle the winter/early spring blues with some hardcore waves. Just because Montreal isn’t located on the coast, doesn’t mean you can’t tackle some killer tides.

Oasis Surf in Brossard is an indoor pool, open to amateur and experienced surfers looking to ride the waves.

Amaze Escape Room

What: You escaped the winter’s snow (sort of), now try to get out of an escape room.

Try your luck at escaping from a prison, military facility, lost temple, or laboratory. Make a reservation, choose your adventure and then you have anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get out of any respective room. Each mission is reserved solely for your group, and you’re given a walkie-talkie in case you need hints/get scared.
