Bishop & Bagg is hosting their 36th edition of their Bishop & Gags comedy show (if that pun isn’t enough to entice you, all hope might be lost).

Stand-up veteran Amanda McQueen is hosting a show which will be headlined by the very funny (and the amazingly moustachioed) Darren Henwood.

Featured acts include Harrison Weinreb, David Heti, Fergus Craig, Paul Baluyot
Kathy Slamen, and Leonard Yelle.

Settle in for some midweek laughs at one of Montreal’s most extensive gin bars.

21 Swings

Spring won’t be the only thing in the air as Montreal’s musical swing exhibition returned to the Quartier des Spectacles this past weekend.

The interactive, music art installation, 21 Swings, will have Montrealers feeling like kids again as guests can swing back and forth, creating musical melodies.

The 21 Swings (or Balançoires) installation was custom-made for the Promenade des Artistes in the Quartier des Spectacles. The work was created by Daily tous les jours, in collaboration with animal behaviourist Luc-Alain Giraldeau from UQAM and Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, the installation’s composer.

When: Wednesday, April 10
Time: 10 am – 11 pm
Where: Promenade des Artistes, Quartier des spectacles

Shane Murphy at Honey Martin Pub

If you’re in the mood for some soulful music, head over to Honey Martin Pub and check out Shane Murphy. He’s one of the best musicians in Montreal at one of the city’s coziest pubs.

He’s silky smooth on the guitar and has a soothing and hip voice. He plays covers and original pieces. Considering it’s free entrance to watch him, it’s an absolute steal.

Where: 5916 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest

Our DNA – Quartier des Spectacles

A centrepiece of Montreal’s architectural heritage, this spiral staircase created by local artist Patrick Pérubé embodies “neighbourly culture and friendly back alleys.”

Suspended in mid-air, the double helix of a DNA molecule aims to remind on-lookers that our differences, put together, make up our collective identity.

When: Wednesday, April 10
Time: 24/7
Where: Quartier des Spectacles

McKibbin’s Irish Pub Hooley Night

The bar offers Moosehead beer, vodka, gin, rum, rye and whiskey as part of the special. The third floor features a dance floor and a DJ.

If you’re looking to dance and drink on a Wednesday night, it’s tough to find a better deal than McKibbin’s. Get there nice and early to beat the line.
