Ah, Saturdays. Here are a handful of things going on around town today, November 9, to kick off your weekend.

MTLĂ TABLE

Do you have what it takes to try a multitude of Montreal restaurants in two weeks?

Because MTLàTABLE is a giant city-wide food festival where you can discover 150 restaurants that will be offering table d’hôte dinner menus at pretty nifty prices ($23, $33 or $43) as well as a $17 brunch in some restaurants.

A big celebration of little toys is on its way to Saint-Hyacinthe this weekend as a LEGO festival, Brickomanie, snaps its way towards Montreal.

The little block-toy festival will feature demonstrations, building competitions, LEGO history, and sales of the world-famous toy. Brickomonie will also bring some of the most creative LEGO builders from across the province to Saint-Hyacinthe, located about 70 km from the island.

More than 75 exhibitors will be on-site, sharing their amazing creations as well as the building of a giant LEGO mosaic which will be completed in time for the festival’s closing ceremonies on Sunday.

The Cinematic Orchestra – Corona Theatre

The Cinematic Orchestra is a British nu jazz and electronic music group, created in 1999. They’ll be performing their gorgeous tunes on Saturday at the timeless Corona Theatre.

Try your luck at escaping from a prison, military facility, lost temple, or laboratory. Make a reservation, choose your adventure and then you have anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get out of any respective room. Each mission is reserved solely for your group and you’re given a walkie-talkie in case you need hints/get scared.
