FedEx employee caught hurling package at door from several feet away (VIDEO)

This week, Canada Post sparked ridicule after multiple videos were shared online showing employees not even attempting to deliver packages when residents were home.

Following the backlash, a Canada Post spokesperson told Daily Hive they “don’t anticipate further issues” after the previous non-delivery videos went viral earlier this week.

But now it appears that FedEx is in the hot seat after a video was shared on Reddit showing an employee aggressively throwing a package onto a resident’s porch, without even attempting to see if anyone was home.

The incident, which took place at a residential home in Markham, ON on January 15, shows a FedEx employee walk up to the house and, without even bothering to step onto the porch, hurls the package at the door.

The original poster of the video told Daily Hive that this wasn’t an isolated incident and the same thing happened the following day.

“The same guy came back today and did it again. So that’s [two] days in a row now,” said the video’s owner in an email.

They added that FedEx will be made aware of the incidents.

In the second incident, which took place on January 16, a FedEx worker walks up to the same house and tosses the package onto the front porch before returning to the delivery vehicle.

Both videos can be viewed below:

“The behaviour depicted in the video is inconsistent with the professionalism FedEx Ground contracted service providers demonstrate every day in safely and securely delivering millions of packages to our customers,” said David Westrick, a spokesperson for FedEx.

“We are committed to treating our customers’ shipments with the utmost care. We are investigating this incident and will take the appropriate steps to address the matter.”

Following the incident, Reddit users were quick to share their own delivery horror stories, saying they’ve experienced very similar situations before.

“Three days in a row, UPS has discreetly come to my place, put a sticker claiming they missed me, and then left. They didn’t’ even bother knocking or anything. Three days completely wasted, because I didn’t want to leave and risk missing them when they came,” wrote one user.

Another commenter said this incident is “way worse than the Canada Post guy.”
