The Easter bunny was working overtime this weekend as the candy-filled holiday coincided with the unofficial cannabis holiday, 4/20.
And what better place to celebrate it than the site of the summer’s weekly Tam-Tams gathering, at the base of Mont Royal.
Traditionally, locals, tourists, musicians, LARPers, and vendors meet at theĀ Sir George-Etienne Cartier Monument to party and smoke weed in what was Montreal’s worst kept secret.
Since legalization, however, this year’s Tams will be legal, though smoking in the park is not (as if that stopped anyone before).

The renowned spot was popular among 4/20 celebrators on Saturday and Instagram went up in smoke full of smokers, drummers, and dancers.
If this weekend’s party was any indication of how 2019’s first Tams will look when it officially launches for the summer campaign on May 5, the mountain is in for a wild ride.
If you didn’t get a chance to visit the mountain this weekend or if you were a bit hazy for whatever reason, here’s what Mont Royal looked like on 4/20.
