Edmonton Oilers players host summer get-together with McDavid and Draisaitl
It may be the summer, but that doesn’t mean the Edmonton Oilers can’t get a bit of team-bonding in.
With summer now in full swing, it appears the longer-than-usual offseason is getting to some of the Oilers players. Rather than wait for NHL training camp in September to reunite with teammates, a number of Edmonton players opted to attend a team-bonding dinner last week.
Captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were the headliners at the dinner, alongside wives Lauren Kyle McDavid and Celeste Draisaitl. They were also joined by Jason Dickinson, Evan Bouchard, Colton Dach, Isaac Howard, Matthew Savoie, and new Oilers defenceman Ryan Shea.
It’s unclear where exactly the dinner took place, but it was near a waterfront and looked absolutely stunning.

The dinner appears to be part of a broader weekend itinerary for that group of players. A photo posted to Lauren Kyle McDavid’s Instagram story revealed on a dinner menu that this is part of something called “Oilers weekend.”
It seems that this was a pre-planned team-bonding event to get players ready for the upcoming season.

This has been a big offseason for a number of Oilers players.
McDavid kicked off his summer with a beautiful trip to Utah with Lauren, while Draisaitl recently got back from a mesmerizing African honeymoon with Celeste. On top of that, fellow Oilers forward Trent Frederic got married earlier this month, as did new Edmonton goaltender Frederic Andersen.Ā
The hope is that this summer has given the team enough rest to regroup and prepare for the upcoming 2026-27 NHL season. Last year ended with a disappointing first-round exit against the Anaheim Ducks, and the Oilers will be hoping for more this time around.
It seems as though there shouldn’t be any concern about the state of the locker room heading into training camp.
