Connor McDavid wasted no time shifting into vacation mode after the Edmonton Oilers were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs last month.

While he’d much rather be playing hockey right now, the Oilers superstar wanted to get a quick start to his offseason. Instead of jetting off to some tropical location or touring Europe, McDavid and his wife, Lauren, decided to stay on the continent for their first vacation of the offseason.

Lauren shared photos from the couple’s recent trip to Utah, where it looks like they attended a desert resort called Amangiri located at Canyon Point.

It’s quite a luxurious spot for the McDavids, as Amangiri is described as being a five-star resort with nightly fees that can get as high as $10,000. It seems like the Oilers captain was anxious to recover from what was a taxing NHL season.

Connor and Lauren were not alone for this Utah rendezvous, as they were joined by another couple as well. Lauren shared photos of herself and Connor alongside friends Sami Punzo and Connor Schlichting, enjoying the desert atmosphere.

The two couples dined, went on a boat ride through the canyon, and even partook in yoga sessions

No McDavid trip would be complete without the couple’s loyal dog, Lenny. The miniature Bernadoodle seemed to have a blast soaking in the Utah sun.

Lauren shared some adorable photos of the pup during the vacation.

Lauren has been particularly busy this offseason. On top of going on this vacation with her superstar husband and some friends, she has also been helping fellow Oilers star Leon Draisaitl build a new home.

It’s a longer-than-usual offseason for McDavid, and it appears he will be taking advantage of every second he’s not on the ice this summer.
