Wedding bells are still ringing across the NHL as we quickly approach the end of the offseason, and this time it’s a former Edmonton Oilers fan favourite.
Oilers fans have had three weddings to pay attention to this summer, with Leon Draisaitl, Kasperi Kapanen, and Troy Stecher tying the knot so far. That appears to be it for current Edmonton players, but ex-Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto can be added to the list.
The former Oilers first-round pick got married over the weekend to longtime girlfriend Bailey Williams. It’s not exactly known where the ceremony was held, but it appeared to be by some sort of water, and the weather seemed to cooperate as well.

Kailer and Bailey have been dating since at least 2016, and the NHL player decided to pop the question last summer in a beachside proposal. Kyra Yamamoto, Kailer’s sister, got a beautiful photo of Bailey’s wedding dress on the big day. Unfortunately, there were no available shots of the actual ceremony.

The 26-year-old Yamamoto was originally drafted 22nd overall by the Oilers in the 2017 NHL draft. He appeared in 244 games with Edmonton throughout six seasons, notching 50 goals and 118 points in the process.
He was eventually traded to the Detroit Red Wings in the summer of 2023 and was then promptly bought out. He wound up signing on with his hometown Seattle Kraken for the 2023-24 season. Most recently, he played with the Utah Mammoth last season, splitting time between the NHL and AHL.
Yamamoto scored just two goals and three points in 12 NHL games with Utah last season and signed a one-year, league minimum deal with the Mammoth earlier this summer.
