Old Vancouver Canucks friends link up for Troy Stecher's wedding

Troy Stecher tied the knot with longtime partner Emma Vincent over the weekend.

The two have been together since before Stecher made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks in 2016. The 31-year-old Richmond-born blueliner has made multiple stops in his career since then, with the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes (twice), Calgary Flames, and Edmonton Oilers.

While Stecher has no doubt picked up friends at each stop along the way, there was at least one table full of his old Canucks buddies during wedding weekend.

Brock Boeser, Chris Tanev, and Alex Biega were among the current and former Canucks players spotted on “wedding eve eve.”

Canucks fans were particularly excited to see Biega, who has been away from the spotlight for a few years. The 37-year-old announced his retirement from pro hockey in 2022, following stops in Detroit and Toronto. He last played for the Canucks in 2018-19.

Troy and Emma got married in Napa Valley, California, on Saturday, and appeared to hold more than one event for their guests. That included a western-themed event with live music and a mechanical bull.

Also in attendance at the wedding was Troy and Emma’s dog, Phoebe. Fans got to know Stecher’s Bernese mountain dog during his Canucks tenure. That’s when Phoebe became a social media star — she has over 7,000 followers on Instagram.

Stecher has carved out a pretty nice career for an undersized defenceman who went undrafted. He has played in 560 career NHL games to date, with his best years coming in Canucks colours.

The right-shot defenceman is under contract for one more season with the Oilers.
