A new grocery store is opening in Edmonton this month, and it’s unlike anything else in the city.
L’OCA Quality Market is gearing up to open its newest location in Edmonton on January 31, with doors opening for eager shoppers at 10 am.
The new outpost can be found at 9106 142nd Street, with L’OCA taking over the space formerly home to Andy’s IGA, which closed last summer after almost 60 years.
“We are absolutely honored to be taking over Andy’s IGA. We will be continuing a long tradition of community support – providing high quality customer service, and offering the best products available,” L’OCA said in an Instagram post.
“Andy could have passed the torch to many other companies over the years, much bigger grocery stores than us. But he trusted L’OCA, and we will not let him down!”
L’OCA opened its first outpost to huge fanfare in Sherwood Park last year, and the Edmonton space will stock the goods people know and love, including its huge selection of chef-prepared grab-and-go meals.
There will be a full-service butcher shop selling Alberta beef, a large deli with local and global offerings, and a wide selection of kosher goods.
Customers will also be able to shop from a full-production bakery with handcrafted pastries, sourdough bread, and a pizzeria and sandwich bar.
In addition to selling kitchen essentials, L’OCA will have a new cafe where shoppers can grab fresh coffee and house-made gelato.
