Aug 20 2025, 2:00 pm

Autumn may be the most romantic season in Edmonton. The air is crisp, the river valley bursts into patches of green and gold, and nearby farms turn into corn mazes and pumpkin patches complete with firepits and apple cider.

With cooler weather settling in, we’re already thinking about the cozy autumn days ahead. There’s no better time to grab your date and make the most of everything fall that Edmonton has to offer!

Here are 11 fall date ideas we think boyfriends should take note of:

Admire the changing fall colours

Edmonton’s River Valley is vast, and nothing beats a stroll through North America’s largest urban park system in the fall. With more than 160 kilometres of maintained pathways and 20 major parks, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon taking in the changing colours of the season. Best of all, it won’t cost a thing. It’s where you’ll also find the best spots to view the fall colours in Edmonton (and maybe snap that fall date pic).
