One of Edmonton's most popular Mexican restaurants is looking to expand
El Mero Mero Taqueria is Edmonton’s best Mexican food truck and restaurant, and it’s looking to open another location.
El Mero Mero Taqueria began as a food truck serving Edmonton in 2021 and opened its first restaurant location in 2022. The restaurant comes from Arturo Ramirez, who was born and raised in Mexico City and has been sharing his love and talent for food, but most importantly, for tacos.
Serving up delicious tacos like its trendy Birria, Pastor with grilled pineapple, and a little bit of everything with its Taco Platter, it’s easy to see why this spot got so popular in the first place.
Now, in 2025, it’s looking to expand further, and it’s looking for help finding out where.

The team released a post on Instagram this August, stating that it’s looking for a new location in and around the city.
“Thanks to the love and support of our amazing guests, it’s time to spread the taco love even further,” says the team on Instagram.
Some potential location spots it has been eyeing are the South Side, the North Side, Whyte Avenue, and Spruce Grove.
