
Several Canadian lottery players woke up to some pretty impressive wins after the recent Lotto 6/49 draw.
The draw took place on Wednesday, March 12, and the Gold Ball prize was worth $28 million. No one won the jackpot this time, but one lucky person did match the White Ball prize-winning number 77697848-01, netting themselves a $1-million windfall. According to PlayNow, the winner purchased their ticket in Quebec.
The winning numbers for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw were 13, 15, 16, 22, 23, 46, and bonus 02. No one won the $5-million top prize, but someone did come close. After they matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, one lottery player in Atlantic Canada is now $199,419.40 richer.

In addition, 85 people will split the third prize, each winning $985.10.
There were also 25 guaranteed prizes to be won, each worth $10,000. Three winning tickets were sold in B.C., six in Western Canada, 10 in Ontario, four in Quebec, and two in Atlantic Canada.
No one won the $500,000 prize in the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw Extra in B.C., and no one won the $1-million Encore prize in Ontario.
The last time someone won the Lotto 6/49 top prize was on Feb. 5, when a man from Edmonton, Alta. won the $30 million jackpot.

The winner, Thanh Lu, has plans to leave Alberta after his life-changing experience.
“I want to get out of here,” he laughed. “I am thinking of moving to B.C. for nicer weather and property on the waterfront.”
He also plans to donate some of his winnings to his church.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw is set for Saturday, March 15. The Gold Ball prize is worth $30 million.
